Reindeer Oreos

An easy no-bake dessert for Christmas! Hardly any prep, no baking required and the kids will definitely want to help out!

How. Cute. Are. Those. Eyes.

My kids have this thing – when they want something – they will say to each other “let’s show mummy our cute eyes” – they flutter their eyeslashes at me and (think) I will relent. These reindeer oreos look nothing like my kids but those eyes…those eyes!

This dessert is so easy to assemble and put together and guaranteed to get the ‘WOW’ factor from your guests. Get good quality chocolate (I used dark chocolate), some Oreos, mini pretzels, candy eyes and some M&Ms. Look out below for some tips on getting the Oreo coveredĀ  in chocolate.

I used Cadbury Baking Melts which melted so easily in the microwave – you could also use chocolate chips. After placing some in a microwave safe bowl (get a small deep bowl depending on how much chocolate you are using) I zapped them for 20-30 seconds and gave them a mix. Nice and melty.

I also lined a tray or serving plate (in my case) with a sheet of baking paper.Ā

I place an Oreo into the bowl and use a fork and teaspoon to flip it until nicely covered on top and all around. I then lift it up using the fork and try to get the excess chocolate to drip down as much as I can (using the teaspoon to scrape off the excess below the fork works also). Place on lined sheet.

Once done, I stick on the mini pretzels, those eyes (!!) and cute red M&M. Repeat. Once done, pop in the fridge for at least 20 minutes to allow the chocolate to set, remove baking paper. This is best served from the fridge.

I got my mini pretzels from Village Grocer and ordered the candy eyes online tho you could get them at your local baking stores too.Ā
